Industry Press Releases >> Ensim Launches First Control Panels to Enable Full Control of Spam by Users
27/1/2004 - Ensim Launches First Control Panels to Enable Full Control of Spam by Users
SUNNYVALE, Calif., Jan. 27, 2004 – Ensim Corporation, the global leader in hosting automation software, today announced the availability of the latest generation of WEBppliance products, Ensim Pro and Ensim Basic. They are the industry’s first control panels that let Hosting Service Providers (HSPs) and Web masters offer user level spam filtering, enabling each user to individually choose how they handle their unsolicited email. Prior to the release of Ensim Pro and Ensim Basic, all control panels imposed global spam settings that might not have been applicable to every user, resulting in desired email being incorrectly classified as spam.
“With the huge amount of spam that is distributed today, users are demanding email hosting that gives them control over what emails they receive,” said Steve Dauber, vice president of marketing at Ensim Corporation. “Ensim Pro and Ensim Basic are the only control panels that enable HSPs and Web masters to offer this capability, making their hosting offerings much more desirable in the market.”
Ensim Pro is the latest release of Ensim WEBppliance Pro, the industry’s most robust tool for building and managing successful hosting businesses. Ensim Basic is the latest release of Ensim WEBppliance Basic, the first commercial-grade control panel for Web masters managing their own dedicated Web server. In addition to user level spam control, they offer the following new features:
· Server-level virus scanning, letting HSPs keep their servers, and their customers, safe from email borne virus attacks
· Support of Fedora Linux, enabling HSPs to utilize the latest Linux technology. In addition, it lets HSPs use newer hardware without enduring compatibility issues.
· Run on unmodified standard Linux applications such as Apache, PHP, MySQL, PERL and ProFTP. HSPs now have the flexibility to perform updates, such as security patches, at their convenience. This also enables them to take advantage of other benefits offered by the open source community.
